The Gestahlian Empire

Today I got the physical edition of Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus. I fell in love with the Senran Kagura series after watching the anime adaptation of the first game. I thought the games would never hit US shores, so I was shocked to hear that Xseed brought them over. I don't own a 3DS yet. (I'm waiting for the New 3DS), but when this PS Vita game arrived I got on that immediately.  Here is the box: ...and here's the contents! The Physical Edition comes with: Shinobi Syllabus (Character Info & Artbook) 39 track Soundtrack sampler Reversible cover for the Vita case The game itself...   The whole package together is 49.99. You can get it from Amazon here .

Happy Moe Day everyone!!! Today is ( unofficially ) Moe day in Japan because the characters for October 10 in Japanese  (十月十日) when stacked in  Japanese  reading order make up the Kanji for Moe ( 萌). So for all those fans of Moe, go celebrate your favorite moe anime and characters. For me that means  re-watching  Kanon for the 20th time. (I watch Kanon every winter...) Image is from GochiUsa.

Hello Everyone! Today is Twin Tail day (ツインテールの日)  in Japan! It is an official day recognized by the Japan Anniversary Association and celebrates that cute hairstyle. So Happy 2/2 Everyone! Also in the US, today is the day of the Superbowl, so good luck Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos! (Personally I wished the Niners were in, but oh well!) Image Credit: Danbooru

Moekana is a Japanese learning tool from Danny Choo and his Culture Japan label. I've been a fan of Danny Choo for a long time and love his efforts to bring the understanding of Japanese culture to everyone. I recently bought a pack of Moekana cards, which are a set of 50 cards created with the intention of helping to learn the basic Japanese syllabary which is called Hiragana. The Box!!! Spreading the cards out. The first character I memorized - の. There is even a card which has all the Hiragana in order. It's useful as a quick reference guide. Overall I am really pleased with these cards. The cardstock is very high quality and the cards are gorgeously and cutely illustrated by Japanese artist Ikkyuu .
